I can’t recommend Tony enough. Brilliant 110km tour including two tough climbs. Tony sorted a great road bike and accompanied the group in a van, sorting drink, gels and an excellent lunch. Brilliant organisation of the whole day, picked us up and dropped back to the chalet.

Tony organised a great day riding from Morzine to Annecy. Nothing was too much trouble. As much food an drink as you could manage. The tour guides managed to cater for all abilities and everyone was made to feel really welcome. Highlight of the holiday. Thanks to Tony and his team

Tony and the guys provided a first rate and very friendly service. Could not be more helpful – provided great lunch and nice added touches like the photography along the route to have a reminder of a great day out. I did single day out from Morzine to Annecy.

‘Your desire to give everything possible to your customers is evident from the airport pick up, right through until the end of the trip. You have without doubt given me some of the greatest cycling memories of my life’

‘I have used Mark and his Velovation team on three occasions. Once was on the ‘Big One’ with some friends, the second time was when Velovation organised a corporate event for me and some 40 or so clients out of Morzine and the following year Le Clusaz.

All events were expertly organised with great riding and epic mountains. We have used Velovation since for additional corporate events.

I would recommend and I will be using them again in the future for any cycling trips to the Alps.’

Malcom Wyllie

‘I did a number of cycling breaks with Velovation in Morzine with groups of friends.

The first thing that struck me about the guys was how organised they were.  Local routes were laid out and discussed with gradients and a plan for the day explained.

The guys knew the all the best local roads to avoid too much traffic.  Having the Velovation support van is a real benefit, firstly to carry all that wet weather gear and food you never think you’ll need, and secondly to enable you to explore much further afield into Italy and Switzerland.  Mark is a great group leader, able to let people ride at their own pace, ride hard on the front when wanted and to encourage a group up a massively hard 30Km climb!

I’d rate them second to none in the Alps.’

‘The two trips I’ve done with Velovation have been two of the best riding holidays I’ve had. Mark and his team not only guide fantastic routes but have picked some amazing places to stay and eat. Having van support means you can just clip in and ride, with all the logistics taken care of. Thoroughly recommended!’

“Being guided by Mark who poses an insanely in-depth knowledge of the most stunning cycling routes of the alps is a great experience.

Velovation takes out the hassle and stresses of organising the day to day and logistic of a fantastic days cycling. Stress free, stunning routes, valuable knowledge and great backup creates the best experience possible.

Velovation provides just that.”

Nick Kirrage

‘Some of the best alpine guiding I have experienced. The team met all our  expectations and more. I ended each day with a huge grin on my face.’

Rob Hayday

‘Riding with Velovation through the Alps over the last three years could not have been better.

The routes planned by Velovation were spectacular; and ascending and descending the iconic climbs was thrilling.  One would expect this type of experience when riding in the Alps.

However, Velovation enhanced that experience.  For Mark and his team nothing is too much trouble. All needs and eventualities are carefully planned and catered for.  Attention to detail is everything and Mark makes full use of his experience to deliver a great package for all his customers.  From the choice of roads to ride, the abilities of a mixed bunch of cyclists, the range of food to feast on, the places to stay in, Velovation get it right every time.’

“I did the Route des Grands Alpes with Velovation in September 2015.  The Velovation team was awesome: great route planning and support throughout.  They were always in a good mood and made the trip one to remember.”

Peter Rimington

‘From 5th September to the 11th September 2015 I cycled from Morzine to Menton through the Alps with seven others; a route which included almost every Alpine climb that exists and most have been used on the Tour de France at some time.

Challenging? Absolutely! I had never ridden anything like it before and , living in the UK had precious little terrain to gain experience of such terrain. When you attempt something like this, you need all your energy and focus to be on your legs and the bike. You can’t afford any slip ups in the arrangement of accommodation, food, water or support.

Tony and his team were absolutely awesome in every respect. Perfect food, plentiful water and snacks; always ready when needed to take excess clothing or supply needed layers, fully conversant with the route and pitfalls, full of advice about pace, strength preservation and each member giving encouragement and support just when needed. Perfect dinner companions and great friends by the end of the trip.

I cannot recommend this team highly enough and will definitely be using their services to cross off those few cols we did not attempt and to take on a few more in other parts of the world!’

The Kent Velo Girls taking a break at the top of the Col de la Colombiere. Kent Velo Girls

Kent Velo Girls is a cycle club based in Hildenborough, Kent. As a change from tackling the local hills, a group of 8 of us hired two chalets in Morzine for 5 nights and set about planning an alpine cycling challenge. As a result of a personal recommendation we employed the services of Mark and Tony at Velovation to lead and support two of our rides. During the planning process they gave us a number of alternative routes with a variety of destinations, elevations and distances. We chose a route from Morzine to Annecy on one day and to Lake Geneva on another.  We all enjoyed the luxury of Velovation’s support; routes chosen along the quietest and most scenic roads, pit stops with delicious food and a vehicle in which to carry extra layers for the chilly downhill sections. Mark and Tony supported us with a quiet confidence, expertly judging our pace and ensuring everyone within the group arrived in one piece with a smile on their face.  They were fun company, extremely thoughtful and we look forward to embarking on another challenge using their services next year.”

Cycling the Route des Grand Alpes with Velovation in 2014 is still the most challenging yet rewarding thing that my partner and I have ever done. The support and organisation that Mark and Tony provided is absolutely the reason our cycling adventure was so amazing. The mountains were tough and pushed us to our limits but they were there for support every pedal of the way and at the end of the day we could relax in very comfortable accommodation and devour delicious food in great company – there’s no better feeling. It was the adventure of a lifetime, absolutely stunning scenery and a very fond memory. We highly recommend Velovation for a cycling tour!

I have been on two fabulous rides in France with Velovation – La Route des Grandes Alpes  and Mont Ventoux to Antibes . Vital ingredients for ride leaders are knowledge of route and patience with riders! Both of these were met in Velovation, the result being that all we had to do was pedal, enjoy the scenery and not feel pressured about the pace! Fuel stops were invariably in a scenic location with a delicious spread waiting which had been prepared by Velovation. An extra bonus was to have a talented cameraman in the Velovation team  to capture special moments on the rides. Strongly recommended for a challenging yet relaxed tour!

I just wanted to say what a great trip you and Tony organised with Georgie. Couldn’t fault it. Superb organisation, comforting attention to detail, attending to every little concern of the group. We felt pampered to the extreme. Some great rides you had scouted, I could do them all over again tomorrow. And the fact that you were open to diversions from your planned course to try something new, added to the moment. Counting down the days to Italy 2017 which will be another high point of my cycling year.
